1) Good overall machine...even better for the price - Overall, a very good buy for the money. Screen is crisp and vibrant. The touchscreen works very well and didn't require any calibration out-of-the-box. Overall speed is what I would expect from the stated parameters. The keyboard is nice because it has a full numeric keypad to the right while still being relatively small and stylish. Many others either don't have a numeric keypad (like the Apple keyboards) or they are huge and clunky with built-in wrist pads and take up a lot of space. This one is sleek and can easily sit in a more compact area on a kitchen work-center or smaller desk.

I was very happy that the "kickstand" is very solid. Even though the stand is mounted at the bottom, this unit doesn't try to tip over when you press on-screen near the top. The stand is also firm. You can move it to change the angle by grabbing the unit on both sides and "pushing", but it takes a fair amount of force (much greater than you would create by using the touchscreen). This is good because the unit doesn't slowly change angle over time as you press on the screen.

The fact that is has a battery and can act like a tablet (a very LARGE tablet) or a laptop is extremely useful. It is really easy to move around and use in a collaborative way when you don't have to be tethered to a power cable. Even just moving it from one location to another is a pleasure since you don't have to power it down, move all the cables, then wait for it to boot back up. You can move it and then exchange the cables at your leisure just like a laptop.

I do wish it had an option for the newer quad-core processors (perhaps for another 1-200 dollars) but the dual core I5 is plenty fast enough for most uses. The 5400 rpm drive is probably the biggest weakness in this machine. Bumping this to a 7200 rpm or better yet, a hybrid drive with the OS on an 8gig SSD partition and the data residing on a 5400 traditional drive would have been a lot better and added only 30-40 dollars to the price. Again, willing to pay slightly more if that had been an option.

This is primarily for my kids, so the fact that it can handle video games with a reasonable amount of capability is a big plus. It's not a "gaming rig", but it will do fine considering they also have a PS and an XBOX. Honestly, this machine would be fine for the vast majority of people. The only people who would need more are hardcore video editors (who need more drive space), hardcore gamers (who would want the latest-and-greatest graphics card), and people who need lots of memory (more than 8 gigs) such as software developers.

2) so far so good... updates to come - ok we're in the early stages of getting this system up and running. we ordered on cyber monday and it came on wednesday! go Amazon Prime! i have not used a PC/microsoft opp system for several years... have had an apple mac book pro but wanted an all in one.... the reason we went with lenovo (a company ive never used before) was price... excellent price.

so far....
- took about 30-40 mintues to get it all set up- not like a MAC where its basically open the box and use.
-LOVE the display, beautiful color. the Stand is very stable, i like how you can lean it into whatever angle you want
-getting used to the windows 8.1, like i said been out of the PC world for a bit besides work, so this new windows it taking a minute but i dont think it will be impossible and i might actually like it
- im not sure what stuff i actually NEED... so ill have to read up on some more reviews and get opinions on what to delete (suggestions welcome)
- great size, the 19.5" seems HUGE
-love that i can move it around the house or put it away with company
-keyboard is nice, mouse is cool. they do not seem cheap really... just light. if you want something THICK then go buy it, but i think it suffices fine.

my gripe so far... i BELIEVE this device is an android like device? possibly... anyway i live in NY and cannot get the Optimum Online App.... streaming live TV... which stinks... i wanted to be able to use this in the kitchen an watch tv while i cooked.

I have heard that i may be able to access google play? i will have to look into further.
