1) Great Buy ! - So I bought this as a gift for my husband. At night, we lay in bed watching TV or reading to wind down. One of the last things he does, is plug in his phone. Struggling with the cord would frequently leave him frustrated and wake him up; so I thought something as simple as the wireless charger would help out.

Okay the pluses:

1) I'm a tech idiot and managed to set it up for him. It's literally plug and play.
2) Somehow the device gives you more longevity in your battery life. My husband normally burns through two full charges a day (he uses his phone a ton for work), now a battery last him all day.
3) We are Prime members and this wasn't a Prime product. When ordering, the confirmation said something insane, like it was going to arrive in three or four weeks. We got it promptly (within a week).

The "down" sides:

1) It has a really cool looking, bright blue light on the pad. As mentioned: it's cool, but it's bright in our dark bedroom. We simply covered it up.
2) The other thing is that occasionally he'll get a message saying, "this device isn't compatible with your phone" and then it'll start charging. This isn't too alarming, my car says the same thing to me and everything works fine.

This is an extremely well-made product. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to simplify their life. My husband liked this so much, he purchased another one for work.

2) This product does everything it says it does, and effectively. - I used to have the old Powermat with the iPhone 4, which lasted me a good three years, but it was picky and the cables were very sensitive (I travel a lot). This item had proven very durable when traveling.

It includes a cable with a USB end to the mat, so you have to get your own wall outlet connection, but it works with my iPhone USB connectors just fine. You literally put the case on the phone (which isn't very thick and does add a small layer of shock protection if you drop it) and once the mat is plugged in, you just drop the phone (face up) in the middle of the pad, and it charges your phone.

This one is not as sensitive as the Powermat (regarding having to place it right in the middle of the pads), making it simpler to use. The only downside is that it continues to charge your phone at a low level when it gets to 100% (the Powermat did not) but the claim is that it's not bad for your phone.

This version added an iPhone 5 USB charging connector to the bottom of the case, so you can charge off a standard plug (so you don't have to take the case off to plug into iTunes or when you travel and don't have your mat.) That's a marked improvement from the previous version and from the Powermat, which forced you to take off the case to plug into iTunes or charge from the cable only.

This case is a little thinner than the Powermat case, so the phone is a little slimmer in your pocket.

I swear by these things and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't like to futz with too many charging cables. I put on my nightstand by the bed and drop it on for an overnight charge when I am below 40% from the day's use.
