No cons yet just an improvements wishlist:
- The dashcam USB power port is in perfect location if it is mount behind the review mirror. And if someone knows his or her way around car, he or she can tuck the power wire along the A pillar and through the roof panel. In my case, I don't want to loose a up close detail scenery and mess around with my car, I mount it above and as close to the dashboard as possible. As such, the USB port will better be positioned either on the side or on the bottom.
- The GPS 3.5mm plug is located a bit to close to the camera suction mount base thus forcing it to be bent a little bit and put some unnecessary strain to the unit. (see picture https://picasaweb.google.com/108127116424716570498/SghT889#6079871249957085778)
- The suction mount quality could be a bit on par with the camera built quality. Fortunately, the box contains two identical mount, one with GPS unit and one without as backup.
- An option to flip the image 180 degree to offer an up side down mounting flexibility.
- The battery could last a bit longer than 60s.
So far I am very please with my purchase in comparison to 2~3 years old legendary F500LHD. At this point the camera seems to be worth every penny in my opinion and I highly recommend this to all my family member and my colleagues. Also if time and money permitted, I would love to see how this one fairs against the $200+ range such as Powerucc Panorama S and Vicovation Marcus 3 Extreme.

Please note:
- I notice that the YouTube video quality is degrading and grainier in comparison to my original .mov files where everything seems to be clearer to the point that I can clearly read license plate of the cars. It probably due either to VLC conversion to .avi and .mp4 format or YouTube upload processing or a dirty windshield or all three factors. I wish that I have a good video editing software instead of using VLC to clip my video.
- In order to capture all the detail of the clip, it is recommended to set your YouTube to 1080p full screen and to view on 1080p large screen (27" monitor in my case).

2) Excellent little dash cam - Pros:
1. Very good tech support. I have several questions when I first received this product, I sent an email to their support and I got response even on Saturday.
2. Full automatic. I used this X1 dash cam for more than a month. When I turn on the engine, X1 starts; when I turn off engine, X1 will last for couple seconds and save the last file, then shut down automatically. It also has loop feature so it can continuously keep recording. In the past weeks, I never touched this device, and it works just fine.
3. Very solid build quality. It's not heavy, so I think it may stick well to the suction cup on the windshield for long time. I have it for about one month, it never dropped off from windshield
4. GPS. It's very cool and it's showing my route. I download their video player, drag a MOV file to it, Google map just pops up with route information. Two thumbs up!
5. Appropriate feature set for a "dashcam" regarding video and photo settings. Video and photos are always overlaid with the date/time. That 165 degree is good for recording everything that's going on in the road in front of you.
6. Video is appropriately compressed using H264 straight to the SD card. It uses about 100 MB for one minute of footage during the day.
7. Very happy with those included accessories. i.e. 8GB miscoSD card, SD card reader, 2nd extra suction cup and the super long charging cable.
Cons:
1. The included miscroSD 8GB card is inside the SD card adapter. It took me few minutes to figure that out. I just wish they could make that a little more clearer on the package. I reported it to their support, and they said they would put a sticker in their next build and update listing.
Some thoughts about the battery: The cam uses low capacity battery for the high temperature safety concern. I fully understand that. The battery can only last for 30-60 seconds. To view recorded video files on PC, I have to take out the miscoSD card, and use that SD reader to transfer files to PC. It's hard to decide which function is more important, but I may prefer the safety concerns first.
Very good product and good tech support! I am thinking about buying my 2nd X1 for my wife's SUV.
