SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEWS –
1) You might want to wait for the price to drop, but you won't be sorry! - I purchased this TV last week locally (Sorry Amazon) after considering the previous 9000 series (UN65HU9000FXZA) for the past couple of months. Is this TV worth $1,500 more than the previous version? (as of this writing in early April, 2015 this model is selling everywhere for $4,999). Probably not, but hey, if you can afford it and you are an early adopter like me, go for it. The picture quality is outstanding! This television is noticeably brighter than the previous model in the head to head,in-store comparisons I did. Some reviewers have complained about reflections on the shiny curved screen. Although this model has the same surface finish, I haven't noted any major problems with reflections. This TV is plenty bright enough despite being in a family room with lots of big windows and skylights. The colors are extremely vivid and the depth enhancement function is pretty wild as well. As several others have discussed with the previous model, you'll need to experiment with settings. I'd note that I didn't like the Movie mode that some reviewers on Amazon recommend.
The only complaint I have with it is that the Smart Hub doesn't include Netflix, which by the way, is about the only source of 4-K programming.at this point. The one connect box has enough (4) HDMI inputs, so I solved that problem with my AppleTV, but it would have been nice for Samsung to build Netflix into the system. Maybe with the next firmware update.
Setup was easy, right out of the box. All-in all, you'll love this TV.

2) best edge lit 4k. - With the lights on a Brilliant 4k picture, lights off and you have the worst performing edge lit I've seen in years.. $5k for this? Come on
Light on great blacks, light off and nothing is watchable, see photos. This is what the pro reviews are not telling you.
I lowered my review because the backlight with lights out is horrible. This display is great with any light on, the filter will makes blacks look black. With the lights out the flashlights come out and expose the truth. The photos exaggerate the actual black levels making them worse than they are but they are much worse than a Sony 900B. The 900B Sony is much better in the dark and the JS9000 is better in any room with lights. If you watch tv in the dark a lot, avoid the JS9000 or you will not be happy. The best 4K display I have seen in a lit room, very nice display but dark room viewing and it goes down hill.
This JS9500 is full-array Back-lit and should perform much better.
UPDATE 3-27-15
After trying to live with a plasma and not making it a week I am stuck. Do I purchase the 65 JS9000 again and accept it's flaws or pay for the 9500. I recommend avoiding this display, the colors are so incredible you won't be able to go with anything else. Do to this, I have revised my score up and save the 5 stars for the 9500.
I neve could see the 4K difference until this years display, amazing.
