1) Do yourself a favor and please read "Most Recent" reviews for this product - All the "most helpful reviews for this device are negative.

I tried this device on a 2008 Scion and a 2013 Acura with BlueDriver software I downloaded about a month ago. It works perfectly.

Here's what I think is happening...

All the "most helpful" reviews are both negative and written two or three years ago. Back then the scanner and device were not as mature and probably didn't work all that well. Potential customers looked at these "most helful" negative reviews, think "thank you for saving me from buying this", mark those reviews as helpful, and miss out on a device that works remarkably well.

I'll say up front that the manufacturer contacted me and asked if I would review this product. It happens sometimes because I've written a fair number of reviews and work hard at being both helpful and honest when describing a product. I remember quickly checking the Amazon listing and seeing that all the reviews that were "most helpful" were somewhat negative. I also remember thinking, "it's your funeral" when I replied that I would be happy to review the scanner. That was before I had a chance to see how well it works and figure out why the reviews got to be the way they are.

I have a couple other scanners that I've been using for some time. One is a big affair with a huge cable that is intended for shop use when fixing a car. The other is an old PLX Kiwi (the cabled model) that is fancier and cost about twice what this one does.

I was surprised at how well this worked compared to the other units I've used. The connection to my iPhone was effortless; plug it in, pick the BlueDriver device for the available Bluetooth connections, and I'm in business. (After forking over $2 for the app.)

Once "in business" I had access to a host of options. There is the ODBI stuff, where I can select from dozens of metrics and have them displayed in real time. I can also reset warning codes. That is pretty much standard and expected.

There are other features that can, as they say, have the device pay for itself. For example, there is a vehicle Info report. It is a collection of information like the VIN, assembly location Engine data, MPG, and about 20 other characteristics. You can send those to a printer, file, or email as a handy way of capturing summary information on any car.

Another feature that can get you out of trouble before you get into it is a "Smog Readiness Status" test. It runs through all the tests that might show up on an emission test and lets you know if you are likely to pass or not.

Repair reports - If you get an error code app will prepare a detailed report of how to fix the problem based on other metrics collected and you vehicle make and model (also read by the scanner).

Bottom line: The hardware works, the software provides a ton of useful and potentially money saving features, and while it might have had issues three years ago it doesn't today.

2) Lemur BlueDriver Review, well worth the price! - Ever wanted to know what your check engine light was trying to tell you? Ever wanted to clear trouble codes (e.g. ABS, Airbags, Transmission, etc., on some models)? Heck, maybe your are just curious what your engine coolant temperature is when on the freeway or how your fuel trim bank #1 is doing (not even sure what that is). Long story short, I had some time to play with the Lemur BlueDriver OBD2 Sensor with iPhone app and review some of the functionality. At least in a way that I would use. it.
Let me start off by saying that I really like this thing. It’s saved me a bunch of trouble already since I can see what the check engine light is actually telling me and decide what I want to worry about right away.
Plus, it will let me clear the codes so that remote start works again. Pretty cool!
It took all of 5 seconds to install it in my Chevrolet Avalanche since I already knew where the ODB2 (On-board diagnostic) port was. Pairing to the free Lemur BlueDriver app on my iPhone was quick and easy as well. The app is also available in the Google Play store.

The BlueDriver will give you so much data, some you will understand and some you might be a mechanic or spend a lot of time running searches on google to figure out what it all means. But for how little it will set you back ($99), you have no reason to complain about getting too much data.

I selected the live option and then just checked the first page of options. There are pages and pages of diagnostics you can view. While driving I grabbed this snapshot.
The Engine Load was fun. You can see that mine flattened out towards the end, that is because I put the cruise control on. Interesting to see. Engine Coolant is helpful. Especially considering the cars gauge doesn’t really tell you much detail. The rest of them..? Ask your mechanic.

There is a ton of data available. You’ll probably want to have someone else drive while you poke around.
Updating the firmware was dirt easy also. I did it while filling the gas tank.

Overall the Lemur BlueDriver is great. I expect I’ll be messing with this thing for months to come trying to figure out everything I can see with it.

1) So nice I bought it twice! :) - I drive a honda ridgeline pickup truck and my wife drive a honda civic. I've been looking for a decent jumpstarter that would be powerful enough for both of our vehicles. Rather then having 2 various models it just seemed easier to get two identical units. After reading reviews on several various jump-starters I opted for this model.

Now the most negative thing I could find about this thing was it lacked a flat charger so you couldn't leave it plugged in. For me that's not even a factor, after all I bought this to charge it and then put it in the trunk of my wifes car and in the cargo area of my truck. I don't intend on leaving this plugged in. So if you plan on using this HOW IT IS DESIGNED then you too don't even need to worry about the lack of a float charger.

That being said, the unit itself is a bit heavy, imagine picking up really big battery, that's essentially what this is. It has some weight to it.

The jumpstarter itself also features an interesting little light that pivots as well as an air compressor. I've heard/read back reviews on the air compressor, for me it's not why I bought it. But initial checks it looks like it works fine and even has somewhere to store the air hose which is really nice.

The one negative I have on this thing is the power switch for the air compressor is on the back and is not protected. In other words it could in theory be flipped on and drain the battery. So when you need to jump your car the starter would be dead. I wish they put a cover or moved the switch but honestly it would take a perfect mistake for that to get turned on so it's really not that critical. To prevent this from potentially happening I actually went down to Target and bought 2 milk crates,one for me and one for my wife. I put a jump starter, first aid kit, oil, etc in the crate so it's essentially the roadside emergency crate and also protects the jumpstarter from getting knocked around and/or turned on.

Overall I spent $140 total on 2 of these and I'm really happy with the quality. They charge overnight easily, the indicator lights show you the charge remaining on the battery and it has power ports for 12volt and USB which is an added bonus.

If you need a jumpstarter I would definitely consider this one.

2) Worth its weight in gold - ...and that's saying a lot, since this thing is so heavy.
I haven't used all the features, but I recently had a electrical problem in my car. The alternator was draining my battery, and I had to unplug it every time. I got the jump starter after my car was fixed, but then I forgot to turn my lights off two days later. This thing jumped my car just fine.
I also have a lot of problems with my tires in the winter, air slowly leaks out of one of my tires. This will come in handy then, as well. It'll save me a couple bucks going to the gas station to fill up air.

Pros: It works. Lots of features, including a cigarette lighter charger, USB charger, and air compressor for your tires. Easy to carry with the handle up top.

Cons: Heavy, it takes a long time to charge (15-19 hrs), and you'll need an extension cord to charge it.
