Designed and purpose-built for solar observation, the Lunt Solar Systems LS152THa 152mm f/6 Refractor Solar Telescope features a massive 152mm objective lens and an internal etalon with a pressure tuner that allows for a <0.65 Angstrom bandpass at the 656nm wavelength, providing slightly higher surface detail without the loss of edge detail. The scope is offered here with a 34mm blocking filter in a straight-through viewing configuration. It fits in the focuser and accepts 1.25" eyepieces or accessories for a wider field of view versus smaller aperture filters or for imaging equipment with larger sensors.Integrating the etalon into the optical path eliminates visual obstructs which can occur with externally mounted filters, and the optical path is fully multicoated with coatings that are engineered specifically to enhance contrast for solar observation and imaging. True Doppler Tuning allows for a shift into and away from the user for a richer depth of field. While looking at a filament at the center of the Sun, the user has the ability to Doppler shift from the base of the filament to the tip, following the filament through its structure toward and away from them, allowing for enhanced visual and imaging capability.Complementing the optical performance and technologies is a Starlight Instruments Feather Touch 2" focuser with a 10:1 reduction that ensures extremely fine-tuned image resolution. Lunt includes their flat-field zoom eyepiece that produces magnifications from 42x to 125x when used with this OTA. A textured collar enables quick transition from the 7.2mm to 21.5mm focal lengths. This solar scope is offered here without a mount or tripod and comes equipped with a 12" Vixen-style dovetail plate that enables it to be mounted on any compatible platform. A foam-lined aluminum hard carrying case is included for safe and secure transport and storage.
